Hellenic Senior Club

For over thirty years, the Sts. Joachim and Anna Senior Citizens Club (also called The Hellenic Seniors) has provided fellowship and social activities for parishioners 50 years of age and older. Each month, members are mailed an informational flyer with details on our next luncheon meeting and any other plans and activities. We collect annual dues of $10.00 per person to cover operating expenses.

Our monthly Potluck Luncheon Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the months January through October. We meet at either the Demakos Center at the main Church (downtown), or in the Hellenic Room at the Family Life Center in Lancaster. We do not meet in November (too close to Thanksgiving). In early December, we hold our annual Christmas Party at a good restaurant. This festive event, with table prizes, door prizes, a sing-along, and group pictures is our best attended event of the year!

Four of our regular monthly meetings have a theme:
1. During Great Lent, a Lenten Foods Only Meal
2. A Picnic in July
3. A Greek Foods Only Meal
4. A Birthday Celebration lunch for One and All Members

On meeting days, the doors open around 11:45 am. Lunch is served at 12:30 followed by a short business meeting. Our luncheon meetings are open to all members, non-members, and even our non-church community friends. The main event of the day is the opportunity to get together — to chat, to joke, to reminisce, to plan, and to say a prayer with the members of our Church Family.
